Plastic, poisonous rice from China flood Nigerian markets


On October 4, 2016, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), through its spokesman, Wale Adeniyi, warned the citizenry to be on red alert, as intelligence report indicated that some die-hard rice smugglers have begun shipment of plastic rice to Africa from China in what was clearly a selfish move aimed at swelling their profits, regardless of the consequences of their poisonous imports.

EFCC recovers $1m cash from Badeh's House


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered $1m cash from one of the houses belonging to the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh(retd.), 

The money was recovered after detectives searched a mansion located at 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama, Abuja.

 Ocholi was said to have died in a motor accident while travelling along Abuja – Kaduna road  with his wife and son.

boy arraigned for sexually abusing toddler

 

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 16-year-old boy at the chambers of the Gudu Upper Area Court, for allegedly abusing a toddler sexually. The accused (name with-held) of Kuje, Abuja, is standing trial on a charge of gross indecency.

Nyanya bombings: One Suspect pleads guilty


One of the suspected bombers of Nyanya and Kuje, both satellite towns in Abuja, on October 2, 2015, Abdulwaheed Nasiru, told a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday that he was guilty of being in possession of 12 Improvised Explosive Devices and other materials used for making bombs.
