Plastic, poisonous rice from China flood Nigerian markets


On October 4, 2016, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), through its spokesman, Wale Adeniyi, warned the citizenry to be on red alert, as intelligence report indicated that some die-hard rice smugglers have begun shipment of plastic rice to Africa from China in what was clearly a selfish move aimed at swelling their profits, regardless of the consequences of their poisonous imports.

Man in prison for alleged adultery



An Ejigbo Magistrate’s court in Lagos has remanded a 44-year-old man, Oluokun Olarewaju, in prison for allegedly slapping his wife’s friend, Miss Christiana Duntoye, who told his wife that she saw him with another woman.

I would have died - Mrs Sarah Bakare




A 51-year-old trader and mother of three, Sarah Bakare, who lives on Oluwole Street in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State, narrowly escaped being hacked to death recently, by the landlady and her seven children. Narrating the incident, the victim told Crime Alert after she was discharged from hospital that she was lucky to be alive to relive her ordeal.

Decomposing corpse chases patients out of wards




According to Punch Newspaper, the Foul odour emanating from a decomposing corpse at the Accident and Emergency Clinic, Orile-Agege General Hospital, Lagos, on Monday, prevented medical workers from attending to patients at the clinic and wards attached to it.
