Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe's first son, Chief Chukwuma Bamidele Azikiwe, is dead. He died at 75.
He died at the Borommeo Hospital, Onitsha, a missionary hospitals close to his house in Inosi Onira, Onitsha in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Vanguard Newspapers, Family source said last night that Chukwuma had been battling Protracted Respiratory Ailment for some years, which had kept him out of public view.
Until his death, he was the Owelle of Onitsha, a traditional position he inherited from his late father in 1996.
Funeral details will be announced later by the family.

Awka—CHIEF Chukwuma Bamidele Azikiwe, the first son of first President of Nigeria, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe is dead. He was aged 75.

A family source said last night that Chukwuma had been battling protracted respiratory ailment for some years, which had kept him out of public view.
Chukwuma until his death was the Owelle of Onitsha,a traditional position he inherited from his late father in 1996 . As Owelle, Chukwuma was sixth in the title ranking in Onitsha.
He had, in 1991, aspired to govern the old Anambra State and after that unsuccessful bid, he never contested for any other public office.
According to a family source, details about his funeral would be announced later in accordance with the Onitsha customs and tradition.
