Fidelity Bank MD arrested by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, and some officials for allegedly receiving $115m from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The EFCC also arrested the bank’s Head of Operations, Mr. Martins Izuogbe, for his role in the alleged scam, which the anti-graft agency described as unprecedented.

Appeal Court Nullifies Rivers Governorship Election

The Court of Appeal has struck out the appeal of Nyesom Wike seeking a dismissal of the judgment of the Rivers election petition tribunal which sacked him as governor of the state.
The tribunal headed by Justice Suleiman Ambrosa had, in a judgment on October 24 voided Wike’s election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh election in the state.
‎According to Channels Television, the tribunal in its ruling stated that the characters of voters called by Wike were impugned under cross-examination and that it agreed that the evidence of the witnesses of Wike and INEC was incredible and unreliable.

Prosecute Yobe REC - Fayose



Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has called for the trial of the Yobe State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Abu Zarma, over the N15 million bribe he was alleged to have received to influence the Yobe State governorship election.
